It was a difficult year for the Italian driver, who, after narrowly missing out on the European title in 2025, returned to the championship in the Richard Mille AF Corse Ferrari 296 LMGT3 Evo, sharing the car with Brazil’s Custodio Toledo and France’s Lilou Wadoux at five of the six rounds.

A series of unfortunate incidents hampered his campaign. These included retirement at the second round at Paul Ricard, where Agostini never even got behind the wheel after Toledo was caught up in a multi-car accident in the early stages. Toledo was also the innocent victim of an incident at Spa, where contact with a prototype while being lapped sent him off the track. Another retirement followed at Silverstone, leaving fifth place at the Barcelona season opener last April as the team’s best result, alongside eighth at Imola and seventh at Portimão.

It was a disappointing outcome, as the potential for a top-three finish was there in Portugal. Toledo qualified seventh and started the race from sixth after a penalty for a crew ahead. The Brazilian made an excellent start, immediately moving up to fourth, but contact at the end of the opening lap dropped him to the back of the field. To compound matters, a ten-second penalty for an unsafe release had to be served by Agostini, who took over at the first pit stop, when he handed the car over to Wadoux for the final stint.

Attention now turns to 2027, with Agostini aiming to mount a fresh challenge.

The Italian driver heads to Portugal straight from the United States, where he raced last weekend in the Triarsi Competizione Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo at Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta, the final round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Sharing driving duties with James Calado and Miguel Molina, Agostini’s race ended in retirement with two and a half hours remaining in the ten-hour event. An electrical issue brought Molina to a halt shortly after he had taken over from the Italian.

Now, however, attention turns to this Saturday’s race, when Agostini will return to the wheel of the Richard Mille AF Corse Ferrari 296 LMGT3 Evo, sharing the car with Brazil’s Custodio Toledo and France’s Lilou Wadoux. After a challenging season, the aim is to bounce back with a finale that reflects the potential of the driver, car and team package, which has yet to be fully realised.

The same line-up finished eighth at Portimão last year. This time, they will be aiming for a significantly better result.

Track action begins tomorrow with the first free practice session at 12:00 CEST. A second session will take place on Friday at 11:15 CEST, followed by qualifying at 16:15 CEST. Saturday’s four-hour race will start at 15:30 CEST and will be streamed live on the official YouTube channel, @EuropeanLeMansSeriesOfficial.

At the demanding Road Atlanta circuit in Georgia, the Italian driver returns to the wheel of Triarsi Competizione’s Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo, sharing driving duties with Britain’s James Calado and Spain’s Miguel Molina in an all-Pro line-up.

After a season that has proved challenging in many respects, Agostini is now targeting a finale that lives up to expectations. Having finished eighth in January’s 24 Hours of Daytona and seventh in the 12 Hours of Sebring, he secured a season-best sixth place in the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen at the end of June, before finishing seventh again at Road America.

Last year, on his Petit Le Mans debut, Agostini’s race ended prematurely following an accident involving his team-mate AJ Muss. Agostini had qualified second fastest and, starting from the front row, had taken the lead in the early stages of the race.

This year’s event gets underway on Thursday with three free practice sessions. Qualifying begins on Friday at 20:20 CET time, while the ten-hour race starts on Saturday at 18:10 CET time. The race will be streamed live at https://www.imsa.com/tv/.

As he did two years ago, Agostini will share a Ferrari 296 LMGT3 – now in Evo specification – fielded by Richard Mille AF Corse with Brazil’s Custodio Toledo and France’s Lilou Wadoux.

It is a well-established trio, although a series of circumstances has affected the course of their season so far. In the most recent round at Spa, a collision with an LMP2 car definitively ended Toledo’s race during his opening stint. At Imola, Agostini’s home event last July, a late pit stop deprived the trio of an almost certain podium finish, disrupting their plans and dropping them to eighth place. At Paul Ricard, meanwhile, an opening-lap incident forced the Richard Mille AF Corse car to retire. Things went slightly better in the season opener at Barcelona – where Francesco Castellacci stood in for Wadoux, who was unavailable on that occasion – with a fifth-place finish.

The aim at Silverstone is therefore to turn things around and begin a strong end to the season, one that reflects the potential of the driver-team-car package, ahead of the final round at Portimão in October.

With 47 cars on track, the weekend programme will begin on Friday with the first free practice session at 11:55 local time. Free Practice 2 will take place on Saturday from 9:55, followed by qualifying at 14:55 local time. The four-hour race will get underway at noon local time (13:00 CEST) on Sunday and will be streamed live on the official YouTube channel, @EuropeanLeMansSeriesOfficial.

The Italian driver, returning to action in the North American series during a season that has seen him compete on multiple fronts – divided between the European Le Mans Series and the IMSA championship -experienced a weekend of mixed fortunes.

The Road America weekend got off to an excellent start, with the pair securing third place overall and the Pro-Am pole position in Saturday’s combined qualifying. The Triarsi Competizione Ferrari 296 GT3 therefore started the race from the second row. However, their result was ultimately compromised by a drive-through penalty handed to Mascaro, who exceeded the pit-lane speed limit while entering the pits for the driver change. The unexpected setback dropped the American team’s car down the order, and it eventually crossed the finish line eighth out of 24 crews.

Agostini’s next commitment will be at Silverstone, which will host the fifth and penultimate round of the ELMS on 12–13 September. In England, the Italian driver will return to the wheel of the Richard Mille AF Corse Ferrari 296 LMGT3 Evo, aiming for a positive end to the season alongside Brazil’s Custodio Toledo and France’s Lilou Wadoux.

The Italian driver will be looking to bounce back after last weekend’s European Le Mans Series round at Spa-Francorchamps, which ended in a bitter retirement. The outcome came as a major disappointment to the entire team, especially as the Belgian weekend had begun with the highest expectations.

Agostini’s teammate Custodio Toledo, one of the fastest Bronze drivers in the field, immediately secured fourth place in qualifying and showed excellent confidence behind the wheel of the Richard Mille AF Corse Ferrari 296 LMGT3 Evo, which he shared with Agostini and French driver Lilou Wadoux. The Brazilian then delivered a strong opening stint. After making a pit stop, he extended his time behind the wheel to more than two hours, as the various neutralisations repeatedly interrupted the rhythm of the race. With just a couple of laps remaining before the driver change – and after completing 38 laps – Toledo went violently off the track at Pouhon, also as a result of a difficult overtaking situation involving CLX Motorsport’s No. 47 Oreca LMP2. The accident forced the car to retire before Agostini even had the opportunity to take the wheel.

Attention now turns to the forthcoming US round, as part of a season in which the Italian driver is competing on several fronts, including the IMSA championship in North America. The action gets underway on Friday with testing and the opening free-practice session, followed by two further sessions on Saturday. The two qualifying sessions are scheduled to begin at 9:10 a.m. local time on Sunday- 4:10 p.m. CEST. The race will then get underway at 9:00 p.m. CEST time and will be streamed live at www.gt-world-challenge-america.com/watch-live.

In the most recent round at Imola in early July, a virtually certain podium slipped away in the closing stages, as a final pit stop disrupted the team’s strategy and cost them third place in the LMGT3 class, dropping them to eighth at the finish.

Earlier in the season at Paul Ricard, Toledo’s accident forced the trio into retirement, while in the opening round at Barcelona – where Francesco Castellacci replaced the absent Wadoux – they secured a fifth-place finish.

On the 7.004-kilometre Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, it will therefore be crucial to secure a strong result capable of reviving a 2026 campaign that has so far yielded fewer rewards than expected. Agostini, for his part, will undoubtedly give it everything.

Fresh from a sixth-place finish in the GTD Pro class at the prestigious Six Hours of Watkins Glen at the end of June, following eighth and seventh-place finishes respectively at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the Twelve Hours of Sebring, Agostini continues to share his commitment in the American endurance series with his European Le Mans Series campaign, which will resume at Spa-Francorchamps on August 22–23.

At Road America, the Italian driver will once again be aiming for a breakthrough result, with a podium finish – or even a victory – that has so far slipped away due to a series of unfortunate circumstances, despite the strong combination of car, team, and drivers.

Free Practice 2 will take place on Saturday at 5:50 p.m. CEST, followed by qualifying at 11:25 p.m. CEST. The six-hour race will start on Sunday at 6:40 p.m. CEST. Above all because, together with his teammates Lilou Wadoux and Brazilian driver Custodio Toledo, with whom he once again shared driving duties aboard the Richard Mille AF Corse Ferrari 296 LMGT3 Evo, a podium finish was genuinely within reach.

Running in third place with around five minutes remaining but forced to make one final and decisive pit stop, the crew led by the Italian driver ultimately paid the price for the pit-stop strategy, slipping back through the order at the most crucial moment of the race.

After retiring in the previous round at Paul Ricard due to an incident in which Toledo was unfortunately involved, and following the fifth-place finish achieved in the season opener at Barcelona last April, the objective at Imola was to climb back up the championship standings. Unfortunately, that did not happen.

As a result, delivering a strong performance at the next round in Spa on August 23 will be essential in order to begin the second half of the season in the best possible way.

In the meantime, Agostini will return to the track at the beginning of August at Road America, where he will once again be behind the wheel of a Ferrari, this time with Triarsi Competizione, for the next round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Fresh from securing sixth place in the GTD Pro class in the United States, the Italian driver heads into his home round of the European Le Mans Series this weekend (4-5 July), which also marks the halfway point of the continental season.

Things unfolded differently in the second round held in France at the beginning of May, where the Italian driver was unable to complete even a single racing lap after Toledo was innocently caught up in a multi-car incident during the opening stages, forcing the crew into an immediate retirement.

Imola represents an opportunity to turn the page. As usual, the weekend will begin with Friday’s first free practice session, scheduled to start at 10:50 am. A second session will take place on Saturday, again starting at the same time, followed by qualifying at 2:55 pm. The four-hour race will finally get underway on Sunday at 1:00 pm, with live streaming available on the championship’s official YouTube channel, @EuropeanLeMansSeriesOfficial.
